Hey, I’m Drew Turner. I created Ebb Equation to challenge the brainwashed defaults of marketing, to move brands away from recycled formulas and into something deeper, braver, and entirely their own.
“Ebb” is about movement…receding from the old to make space for something new.
“Equation” is about intentionality…combining strategy, story, and category design to create brands that own their space instead of renting relevance.
At Ebb Equation, we help brands escape the noise by defining a bold Category POV, crafting narratives that can’t be ignored, and building identities that lead, not follow. This isn’t branding as usual. It’s transformation through clarity, creativity, and the courage to go first.
With over 15 years of experience in branding, marketing, and digital strategy, including as CMO of a global motorsports company, as well as MBA in Strategic Marketing Analytics, I’ve launched multiple startups, scaled legacy brands, and lead international campaigns across industries.
Through that work, I kept seeing the same thing: brands trapped in outdated playbooks, stuck chasing trends instead of owning their space. That’s why I started Ebb Equation, to help bold companies move away from the noise and redefine the rules through powerful storytelling, category creation, and a Brand POV that actually means something.
But what truly drives me is culture, and the power of brands to connect across it.
My connection to Japan began over a decade ago, leading to a BA in Japanese Language, regular visits, and a deep fascination with motorsports, modern design, Shibumi (渋み), and the art of storytelling. Through that lens, I saw a clear opportunity: many Japanese businesses have incredible products and vision, but struggle with outdated branding, limited digital presence, and messaging that doesn’t translate globally. I knew I could help fix that.
At the same time, I saw U.S. and European entrepreneurs facing the opposite challenge: trying to enter Japan without the clarity, cultural fluency, or localized brand presence to land effectively. I knew I could help there too.
That’s why Ebb Equation exists: to serve both sides.
